"The lads in Redmond while busy hammering away at the next version of SharePoint ( SharePoint Server 2010) tossed in a nice little tool in SP2 to help us to ensure our environments are ready for the upgrade. The PreUpgradeCheck utility is a simple to use tool that is run from the command line :
