MOSS2007 – Look and Feel (Part 1 + 2 - The Beginning)

...MOSS 2007 as your should be aware has been changed slightly with it now being built as effectively an extremely advance ASP.NET 2.0 Application. Each of the pages has now been styled with CSS as before but now the layout is decided b using Master Pages and Page Layouts. This way of customisation gives you a quick and easy way to change your Portal and Sites. The pages are now rendered as below....

How to get a flash movie in SharePoint

All you need to do is :

  1. upload the .SWF file to a web location
  2. add a content editor web part to your page.
  3. Now go into your content editor web part and click on source editor.
  4. Now paste the following code into the web part:

And , Replace myFlashMovie.swf with the url of your SWF file.

sharepointbranding Setting up a WSS v 3.0 Site Definition

1. Unzip CustomSite.zip and copy to C:\Program Files\Common Files\Microsoft Shared\web server extensions\12\TEMPLATE\SiteTemplates
2. Cut and paste WEBTEMPCUSTOM.XML to C:\Program Files\Common Files\Microsoft Shared\web server extensions\12\TEMPLATE\1033\XML
3. Then go to C:\Program Files\Common Files\Microsoft Shared\web server extensions\12\TEMPLATE\1033 and make a copy of the sts folder (in the same location) and rename it to CustomSite.
4. Close all windows and click start...run...iisreset.
5. Create a new WSS site and select "Custom Team Site" from the list of templates.
6. You should now have a custom WSS 2007 site with no top navigation.
