PerformancePoint Server 2007

Microsoft fournira une partie du code de
PerformancePoint Server 2007

http://blogs.msdn.com/bi/archive/2009/06/18/financial-planning-accelerator-announced.aspx

How can you get the Financial Planning Accelerator?

To obtain access to the Financial Planning Accelerator a license agreement between Microsoft and the customer or partner is required. After that agreement is in place, download instructions will be made available. Please e-mail fpasupp@microsoft.com to request the agreement.

For more background on the recent changes to PerformancePoint and how SharePoint customers can now take advantage of the PerformancePoint dashboard and scorecard capabilities today, check out this page.

Keep up to speed by following the word on Twitter

PerformancePoint integration with Sharepoint

Watch this short video to find out what the strategy changes mean for customers and to catch up on the latest news for the Microsoft Business Intelligence product suite. Michael Tejedor goes into the details of the announcement, what these changes mean for end users and for deployment going forward. As of April 1st, SharePoint customers can now access the PerformancePoint Server bits.

Go to http://www.microsoft.com/licensing/servicecenter. This website will show the downloadable bits if you are a licensed user of PPS 2007 with software assurance.

How We Did It: BDC Meta Man Web Edition

For today’s guest post, I’d like to introduce Nick Swan and Phill Duffy.  Nick founded Lightning Tools with Brett Lonsdale in 2006 and BDC Meta Man was a result of their efforts.  Fast forward to 2009 and Phill Duffy is part of the team (Nick Swan, Brett Londsdale, Dmitry Kaloshin, Michael Gamza, Hrayr Diloyan, Ashot Brahamyan, Karen Khumaryan & Hrachya Bekverdyan) that built and launched BDC Meta Man Web Edition.  This post gets into the decisions and components they used to build a custom SharePoint solution.  Enjoy!

Introduction

BDC Meta Man Web Edition was born from the success of BDC Meta Man and from listening to our users about how they wanted to interact with SharePoint and the Business Data Catalog.

SharePoint Disaster Recovery Advisor - SharePointforAll

Disaster Recovery Advisor is a companion tool for Quest Recovery Manager for SharePoint. It guides the you through the process of WSS v3 or MOSS 2007 farm restoration during disaster recovery. DR Advisor analyzes the live SharePoint configuration database, or the configuration database backup. It then creates a detailed checklist of actions required to return the SharePoint farm back to operational state and verifies each components' availability in real time. This allows you to quickly assess where you are in the SharePoint farm disaster recovery process and what servers, databases, or services have yet to be restored. DR Advisor also suggests appropriate psconfig.exe commands to properly re-provision SharePoint to the front-ends as you bring them back, and allows to re-create required SQL logins for SharePoint to work.

Questions and feedback are welcome in the Recovery Manager forum!

Do Less. Get More. Develop on SharePoint.

Did you know that you don’t have to write code to manage web site users in SharePoint?

SharePoint allows for end user site creation and when a user creates a site they can also manage the user permissions on that site. This topic shows how some aspects of user management are handled in SharePoint including how you can audit activities that users do and show different data depending on the role a user belongs to.

Authentication for MOSS 2007 - CODEPLEX

Announcing Windows Live ID Authentication for SharePoint

I’m glad to announce that from now on you can find the project Windows Live ID Authentication for SharePoint on CodePlex.

Windows Live ID Authentication for SharePoint is a project that has been developed for some time for the upcoming Swedish SharePoint Community Site, which will be an awesome site with some really cool features of which this is one.

There are a lot of features in the provider and I have some even greater plans…

  • All configuration done through the SharePoint web interface; Central Administration or in the sites
Forces users to register once registered
  • Profile information that is more community-like
    Profile images
  • Web Parts for displaying last logged in, last registered and all users.
    Users can be locked
  • Approval of users can be turned on
Profile changes can be published to announcement lists
  • Four predefined roles for permissions management

You can download it now from http://spwla.codeplex.com/, you will also find a document with installation and configuration instructions. There are a few known bugs on which I work on, but if you can spot them or others, please report an Issue on the CodePlex

Leaked: Office 2010 Technical Preview screenshots

Earlier this week we learned that Microsoft would be giving out the Office 2010 Technical Preview to select testers on an invite-only basis. In January, screenshots of the alpha (then still codenamed Office 14) were leaked a week after select testers got them. This time, testers don't even have the Technical Preview yet, but new screenshots have already arrived (see below). Office 2010 will be available in 32-bit and 64-bit, and both flavors have been leaked.

The Master Blog : Introducing the SharePoint MCM Program and the First Microsoft Certified SharePoint Masters!

"As the Program Manager for the SharePoint Master and MCA programs, I am pleased to introduce the programs and the first two groups of Certified SharePoint Masters! (Microsoft Certified Masters for SharePoint 2007)
To recap, the Alpha delivery (Rotation 1, or “R1”) was held in November of last year and the Beta delivery (R2) finished up in early April. Throughout this process I’ve had the great pleasure of working with the SharePoint MCM Instructor team to design, build, deliver, improve, update, redeliver, (repeat) the SharePoint MCM program.
The Instructor team is made up of 15 – 20 of the top subject matter experts in the world. Each Instructor is a SharePoint expert, either as members of the SharePoint Product Group or as deployment professionals in the field, and they’re exceptionally deep in the areas they instruct. Additionally, in a few target areas we pair Instructors with domain expertise in dependent technologies (SQL, AD, etc.) with SharePoint SMEs in the same area – such as paring our SQL Instructors (Paul Randal and Kimberly Tripp) with our resident SharePoint SQL SME (Bill Baer.)" Calling the SharePoint Web Services with jQuery - Jan Tielens' Bloggings

If you read this blog you probably know that besides the web user interface, SharePoint also exposes some interfaces which you can use from code: the SharePoint object model and the SharePoint web services. The object model of SharePoint can only be used by code/applications that are running on a SharePoint server in your Server Farm, so you can’t use the object model on client machines. The SharePoint web services can be used of course across a network boundary, that’s what they are built for! In this post I’m going to show you how you can access the out-of-the-box SharePoint web services by making use of the jQuery Javascript library. First let’s see what you can do with this technique: download this zip file that contains an ASPX page (a basic Site Page without any code behind), and the jQuery Javascript library (in case you don’t have it already). Upload the two individual files (not the zip file) in the root of a Document Library in any of your SharePoint sites. You can do this by making use of the web user interface; you don’t have to touch anything on the server itself. When done, just click on the link of the uploaded ASPX and you’ll see following page

Infrastructure Planning and Design guides share a common structure, including:

  • Definition of the technical decision flow through the planning process.
  • Listing of decisions to be made and the commonly available options and considerations.

Displaying MS-Word files in a SharePoint Web Part using TextGlow and Silverlight

When Microsoft released their Office 2007 suite of applications they introduced the new Office Open XML standard as well. This XML standard would be the default format for all their applications and the structure of the files would be made an official ECMA standard.

As this standard is based on XML, the content of - for example - an MS-Word file should be relatively easy to parse and then do something useful with it. Something useful is in the eye of the beholder and James Newton King thought it was a good idea to set a couple of months aside and use it as a showcase for Silverlight 2.0, resulting in TextGlow, a Silverlight control that, you guessed it, can display MS-Word files.

This article shows you how to embed TextGlow into SharePoint and use it to display content stored in a Document Library. It is assumed that you are familiar with the Content Editor Web Part, if not then check out Todd Bleeker’s excellent resource on this topic.

SharePoint is getting even more powerful!! Welcome PerformancePoint Services!

Steve Caravajal's Ramblings : SharePoint is getting even more powerful!! Welcome PerformancePoint Services!: "SharePoint is getting even more powerful!! Welcome PerformancePoint Services!
Some very exciting news was announced yesterday. SharePoint’s mission has always been to provide collaboration to the masses. Collaboration in the broadest sense has meant business intelligence capability with Excel integration, Excel Services, KPIs, Report Center, etc.
Well, as of yesterday, collaboration to the masses now also includes BI for the masses with the inclusion of PerformancePoint Services. Yep, that’s right! The next version of SharePoint (aka SharePoint14) will include PerformancePoint Services. You say you can’t wait till SharePoint14, well you might not have to, read on…
This is an update to our Business Intelligence roadmap. This will greatly facilitate delivering BI to everyone in the organization.
Specifically, this includes consolidating the scorecard, dashboard, and analytic functionality from PerformancePoint Server into SharePoint Server Enterprise as PerformancePoint Services.
PerformancePoint Services will be a license entitlement for SharePoint Server 2007 ECAL customers with Software Assurance. This means that customers who want to deploy PerformancePoint can do so today at no additional cost. Yep, you read that right.
PerformancePoint Server 2007 will no longer be available as a standalone item after April 1, 2009.
For more info," .../...
